Time to Learn: Attend spring conferences for FREE from the WpLRC
The Workplace Learning Resource Initiative and the Economic and Workforce Development Program of the California Community Colleges are pleased to provide full-time faculty the chance to attend a Basic Skills or Workforce Development conference this Spring for FREE. California Community College full-time faculty members have the opportunity to receive up to $900 reimbursed by the Workplace Learning Resource Initiative when attending a Basic Skills or Workforce Development conference. Employment and Training Administration $10 Million Energy & Construction Grant
Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Announces Grant Funds to Support Regional Approaches to Meet Workforce Challenges in Energy Sector and Address Shortage of Construction and Trade Workers

Under the President's High Growth Job Training Initiative (HGJTI), the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has announced the availability of approximately $10 million in grant funds for high-impact
regional approaches to meet the workforce challenges of the energy industry and/or address the shortage of construction and skilled trade workers needed to maintain and expand the energy industry
infrastructure. Anticipated average individual awards of $500,000 to $1 million.

The closing date for receipt of applications is March 25, 2008.

The Andrus Family Fund supports programs that help youth successfully sustain an independent life after foster care by paying attention to transition.

This program supports and disseminates innovative models for improving the quality of postsecondary education and increasing student access.

Jewish Community Foundation: Cutting Edge Grants Initiative
The Foundation is requesting proposals in the form of concept papers for single- or multi-year, cutting edge programs that address important, demonstrable needs in the Los Angeles Jewish Community. Awards up to $250,000.

Regional Innovation Grants TEGL 16-03, Change 5
The Department of Labor, Employment Training Administration will award Regional Innovation Grants to state workforce agencies and local WIBs to initiate comprehensive, sustainable, and integrated regional planning using the Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) conceptual framework.
