CLP joined HOPE for the 31st annual Latina Action Day in Sacramento on May 6. Our own Naomi Castro served on a panel alongside Linda Vasquez, Assistant Vice Chancellor for State and Federal Relations at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and Michael Wiafe, Assistant Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Governor Newsom. Max Espinoza, Senior Program Officer at the Gates Foundation,
served as moderator.
The panel discussion, Reimagining Opportunity: Expanding Pathways to Higher Education and Career Success, explored how education leaders are bringing to life the vision set forth in California’s new Master Plan for Career Education through strategies like dual enrollment and hands-on, real-world learning, to ensure all students, regardless of their background, are equipped to succeed.
