Create schedules for college courses during the high school day with the CLP Dual Enrollment Scheduling Tool. The free tool does the calculations for you, saving time and effort and creating schedules that meet instructional minute and contact hour requirements.
Input basic details—high school bell schedule, course info, and non-instructional days—and the tool will calculate instructional minutes and contact hours for the course. You can then adjust factors such as class meeting days and start and end dates to create viable schedules. View sample results.
This tool will be useful for community college staff who are responsible for scheduling college courses on a high school campus and for high school district staff who are responsible for verifying minimum instructional minutes for claiming Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
How it works
There’s a two-step process to complete the tool.
Part 1. Calculate instructional minutes.
Input the high school bell schedule. The tool will calculate daily instructional minutes outside of dual enrollment class times.
This will help verify that high schools are meeting minimum requirements for apportionment purposes.
Part 2. Calculate class contact hours.
Input college course info and high school non-instructional days. The tool will use this info, along with the high school schedule data that you entered in Part 1, to calculate course contact hours.
If the resulting contact hours are under the minimum, you can adjust factors such as class meeting days, start dates, and end dates.
Colleges can use this tool to create a schedule for the dual enrollment class that is within the required amount of contact hours.

Notes
High school practitioners should consult with their school district for verification of instructional minutes for ADA. College practitioners should consult with the appropriate college department for verification that college courses meet their required contact hours.
