The second Equitable Counseling Convening at the College of San Mateo on September 12 featured six breakout workshops in three strands: equitable counseling, dual enrollment, and wraparound services. About 100 attendees from the Bay Area and beyond gathered to connect and exchange promising practices.

The most valuable part of the convening? Participants said:
- Connect with colleagues from other colleges
- Have a chance to not feel alone in the work
- Loved the student panel!
- Best practices and great tools to apply
- Space for community building
- Change of pace
- Discuss ideas and approaches to the work
One of the day’s highlights: In a panel discussion, students from the College of San Mateo shared their experiences including challenges they’d faced getting support on campus.
