Sherry Shojaei


Sherry supports CLP’s education and workforce partners in building their capacity to pursue equity, redesign their practices, and improve student outcomes.

She provides technical assistance, resource development, and documentation to colleges statewide with a particular focus on redesign with careers in mind.

As part of the California Cloud Project under the state’s Strong Workforce Program, Sherry is helping to support 19 colleges and their partners in Southern California to develop pathways that lead to certificates and jobs in cloud computing. She previously helped three community college consortia that were funded by the California College Pathways Trust with the multiyear process of aligning systems, developing pathways, and creating opportunities for work-based learning.

Before she entered graduate school, Sherry worked with City Year in a middle school in East Los Angeles to provide strategic academic interventions for students, and she mentored 14 first-year corps members. This work inspired her passion for equity in education and informed her sense of responsibility to support underrepresented students.

Sherry holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and criminology, law, and society from the University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley. As a Getting into Graduate School mentor at UC Berkeley, she supported students applying to and enrolling in graduate school. Sherry is a proud immigrant from Iran and a spontaneous adventurer and music enthusiast.
