The CLP Dual Enrollment Access Gap Tool is a free resource to help college and high school practitioners identify gaps in dual enrollment access by age/grade level and race/ethnicity. The tool compares dual enrollment student participation with the school’s student population, providing results by age/grade level and race/ethnicity. This is one way for partnerships to look at and begin addressing equity gaps in access to dual enrollment.
How it works
The tool is pre-loaded with high school and community college data that are publicly available from the California Department of Education and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. Current data is from the 2022-23 year. An updated tool with 2023-24 data will be available in fall 2024.
To take full advantage of the access gap tool, you’ll need to input some data on the number of high school students who participated in dual enrollment in 2022-23, disaggregated by high school, age/grade level and race/ethnicity. (This disaggregated information isn’t available through public data sources.)
Even if you don’t have access to high school student participation data, you can still use the tool and view a limited set of reports. Preview the full set of reports.
