From “Random Acts of Dual Enrollment” to Equitable and Sustainable Pathways
CLP will be presenting at the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) 2026 Conference.
Session description: Corona Norco Unified School District is a K-12 district with over 16,500 high school students located in the Inland Empire of California. With the lowest regional degree attainment rates in the state, Corona Norco USD is committed to being a leader in ensuring college access and success for students as early as the 9th grade, especially English Learners and students with disabilities who have historically been shut out from college and career readiness efforts. In this session, Corona Norco USD and dual enrollment experts from Career Ladders Project, a nonprofit organization in California focused on equitable college redesign efforts, will share the district’s journey in transforming their dual enrollment program from “random acts” to sustainable and equitable pathways that serve students. See how intentional district leadership, bargaining unit engagement, and postsecondary partnerships have helped Corona Norco USD reduce access gaps by 23% for Hispanic students and increase special education (SPED) and English language learners (EL) participation in dual enrollment.
Presenters: Kylie Campbell, Senior Consultant, CLP; Anita Shirley, Coordinator, Educational Services, Corona Norco USD; and Caroline Cabal, District Counselor, Corona Norco USD
