Building Bridges for Black Brilliance
Join us at the California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) Annual Education Conference. CLP will be co-presenting with Granada Hills Charter.
Session description: When students are quantified as a “small number” in schools, it can be challenging for educators to justify centering their experiences and designing programming that can aid in their inclusion and academic success. Unfortunately, Black learners are continuously excluded from opportunities for academic acceleration, including dual enrollment. This session will include strategies from practitioners on how to center Black learners in dual enrollment through coalition building with actionable next steps to take back to campuses.
Presenters: Nicole Austin, Administrative Director, Instruction, Granada Hills Charter; and Laurencia Walker, Director, Career Ladders Project
