Latinx Student Liberation: Equitable Dual Enrollment

COLEGAS Annual Conference session description: “Education is freedom,” said Paulo Freire. In College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) type of dual enrollment, Latinx students have the highest participation rates of any ethnic/racial group (PPIC 2023), but access is just a starting point. Join us in understanding the state of Latinx dual enrollment students across California and diving deep into the exemplary work at Long Beach City College (LBCC). We will explore the current state of Latinx student participation in dual enrollment and discuss the specific initiatives and programming implemented by LBCC to support Latinx students in accessing and succeeding in dual enrollment opportunities.
