We’re excited to announce the launch of a new dual enrollment initiative in the Bay Area of northern California funded by Tipping Point Community. Supporting the ultimate goal of increasing college success for low-income students of color in the Bay Area, this project will convene college-high school partnership sites in a regional community of practice. Sites will work to increase the quality and quantity of dual enrollment offerings at high schools serving low-income youth of color. Beginning this fall, CLP anticipates working with four college and school partnerships.
The Bay Area work will complement the statewide Dual Enrollment for Equitable Completion community of practice, which is supported by CLP with funding from the College Futures Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition to the focus on college completion for Black, Latinx, and low-income students, the statewide community is working to integrate dual enrollment within guided pathways. We’re looking forward to opportunities for creativity and cross-fertilization of ideas across the communities as they exchange insights gained and lessons learned.
As both efforts progress, we’ll be sharing promising practices with the field. To stay up to date, join CLP’s public, online dual enrollment community of practice. Click here to sign up.
