At the Strengthening Student Success Conference this week in Burlingame, CLP and others will highlight transformative work under way at colleges across California on closing achievement gaps and advancing student success.
On the event theme, “It takes a community college,” CLP will offer seven presentations and post-conference workshops (we’re also a sponsor).
Stop by our table to connect with us, join our mailing list, and learn more! (Also: candy.) Meanwhile, here’s an overview of our presentations.
CLP executive director Linda Collins will offer opening remarks to help set the stage for this important cross-pollination among California’s community colleges. Then, during the main conference, we’ll present on four promising practices:
-
- contextualized learning in a Guided Pathways framework
- professional development for dual enrollment instructors, coordinators, and counselors
- using design thinking to explore Guided Pathways
- building a foundation for strong guided pathways from high schools to community college
Our in-depth, post-conference workshops on Friday will offer practitioners a chance to explore an important strategy for taking Guided Pathways to the next level as they dig into implementation in three key areas:
-
- integrating student supports
- using design thinking
- building partnerships
