Promising Practices in Dual Enrollment, October 8, 2024
Presenters shared promising practices from their CCAP dual enrollment partnerships. Topics included the different forms of dual enrollment, the partnership between Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach City College, and Mendocino College’s efforts to support higher education in a rural region.
Identifying Access Gaps in Dual Enrollment, December 5, 2024
This webinar focused on identifying access gaps in dual enrollment programs and introduced tools to address equity issues for underrepresented students. Presenters from CLP, Napa Valley College, and Mt. SAC Early College High School discussed the EdTrust-West Jumpstart report, the CLP Dual Enrollment Access Gap Tool, and strategies for improving student participation and representation across different grade levels and ethnicities. Other issues covered included the importance of integrated learning, early college credit opportunities, and collaboration between high schools and community colleges.
Dual Enrollment Instructors & Scheduling, April 24, 2025
Presenters from CLP and Bakersfield College addressed various questions from participants, including the employment of high school instructors, funding for college mentors, hiring practices for dual enrollment instructors, and handling situations where high school teachers don’t meet minimum qualifications. CLP introduced the Dual Enrollment Scheduling Tool and the importance of accurately tracking instructional minutes to ensure proper funding and maintain the partnership between high schools and colleges.
